Composite Deck & Paver Patio — Columbia, MD

This outdoor living transformation pairs a 1,000 sq ft TREX Transcend composite deck in Rainier with a 2,000 sq ft Nicolock paver patio, creating two connected zones for dining, lounging, and entertaining. The deck features black Key-Link aluminum railing from the Outlook Series with drink rails, integrated LED lighting on the rails and steps, recessed ceiling lights, and two ceiling fans. A Rain Escape system covers 635 sq ft beneath the deck, draining the space above a finished white PVC ceiling so the area below stays dry and usable. The deck, steps, and twin glulam front beams are wrapped in white PVC, with 6" white vinyl post sleeves for a clean, low-maintenance finish.

At ground level, the Nicolock patio uses three X-Large paver sizes in Granite City, framed by a double Raven border. The hardscape includes Verona retaining and seating walls capped with bullnose Raven coping, three Verona columns topped with Bluestone caps, a Verona fire pit with a Bluestone top, and 6 ft wide Rockface Bluestone steps. LED lighting accents the retaining walls, columns, and seating walls, while Delaware River Rock and a concealed PVC drainage system with pop-up emitters manage water beneath the surface.
